OUR 2021

Dear Neighbor –

Just one short year ago, things looked a lot different.  We were stuck in our homes, the COVID pandemic was raging with no end in sight, and we were all worried – about our families, our businesses, and our country.

What a difference a year makes!  With the end to mask mandates for vaccinated Coloradoans, we can start returning to normal – going to church, visiting stores safely, and just spending time with our families and neighbors this July 4th.

A few weeks ago, we concluded the legislative session in the State House. My top priority was helping our families get to the finish line of the COVID pandemic, and the results speak for themselves:

  • Helping Colorado’s working families and small businesses with startup loans and grants, increased child care capacity and affordability, workforce training and statewide expansion of broadband

  • Leading the way in making health care more affordable by addressing runaway prescription drug costs and finding ways to increase access and lower premiums

  • Fighting climate change by creating more renewable energy grants for green job creation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and taking steps now to reduce wildfire risks

  • Increasing investments in our students, teachers and classrooms by more than
10 percent, so that when students return this fall, they’ll hit the ground running

  • Making our communities safer for all, by expanding background checks and closing gun loopholes, ensuring our courts are better trained for domestic violence and child abuse cases, and helping sexual assault survivors take control of their cases

  • Being a voice for our most vulnerable by improving first responder training for treating and interacting with those with disabilities.

And 94 percent of what we got done for our communities was done with bipartisan support.

I know there’s still so much more we can do to help our economy grow, our families stay safe and healthy, and our open spaces, air and water clean and enjoyable for all of us.

I know you have priorities too – and I work for you. So, as your State Representative, I want to hear from you so I can better deliver on what matters most to you.

I’m looking forward to seeing more and more of you in the community, as the Colorado Comeback continues!
